I designed the cover for this "He Hits" book several years ago. It is a story of Domestic Violence written in poetry form. The author has given me permission to sell this on my website and artblog for $7.00 each.
Hi Jan. Love the small book, love the story, and love the quote at the end. It leaves quite an impact. When I was a young kid, an art teacher was teaching the Roman Hand in Calligraphy and told me I would "never" be a Calligrapher. What an awful thing for a teacher to do. As an adult, I've taken several Calligraphy classes, and I struggle with the thought of "not being good enough". It's a battle, and I keep reminding myself that I need to accept where I am in my Calligraphy journey and keep learning. Thanks so much for sharing your heart through your art. Linda E.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Linda E! We all did not start out as either polished artists or polished calligraphers. It is a journey for sure and you just keep at it. I appreciate your support and comments so much!
DeleteYour story is very moving and powerful, Jan. It is amazing to me, having the vantage point that I do, that your artistic beginnings were anything but supported. God has taken the "nevers" and "no's" and turned them into "YES!"
ReplyDeleteJane, thank you so much for being so supportive of my blog and me personally, I appreciate you so much!
